The Taunton Model Railway Group has put in place an operating protocol to allow a small number of members to work within the clubhouse and being Covid secure.
This blog focuses on our new layout, a replacement for the old Tamerig.
Club Member Dave Buckley has continued to work on several of the many buildings we will need. This work has been carried out by using some Metcalfe cardboard kits and scratch building, to produce several bespoke buildings.
The scratch-built building, which is still a work in progress as slates, guttering, down pipes etc, need to be added. There are no 90-degree corners (see plan view) and because the building is on a 1/10 slope AND diagonally across, all the 6 sides have different degrees of slope!! Dave had to draw upon his “architectural” skills, which he did not know he had!
